Samson Sound Deck For Mac
For my testing, I installed the Samson Sound Deck Software for Mac OS X (available free here) so I could get a feel for how well the noise cancellation worked. Samson’s Go Mic Direct It features noise cancellation technology and includes a one year warranty. It is small (1.75-in x 1.75-in) and weighs 1.1 ounces. The USB port is retractable and it can be plugged into your Mac USB port without blocking surrounding ports. The speaker includes a hard plastic box that keep it safe between uses. Samson’s Meteorite Microphone The microphone rests in a magnetic base and tilts and swivels as needed to achieve the best sound. It is quite small, less than three inches tall when sitting in the base, but has the look and quality of larger microphones. The surface is chrome, providing a sturdy foundation. Like the other, it includes a one year warranty. The first time you use it, your Mac will recognize the device and automatically install a universal driver.
To select it as the microphone of choice select Apple Menu > System Preferences > Sound. Select it as the microphone of choice for both input and output. This little microphone is quite nice.
It has professional quality sound and a very small footprint – important to those have desks that look like mine. One of these days I will stop and figure out where all the cords go.
